The "Glowing Light Ball Bench" by artist Manfred Kielnhofer was put on
display at the Light Art Biennial at Austria. As the name clearly
suggests, the bench features a simple design yet elegant design
consisting of "three light balls and two wooden boards perforates that
lay over the light balls". The contrasting structural dynamics offers
an analytically angle to the stunning work of art. So if you are a
thinker, this piece will offer an "intellectual debate" along with a
"philosophical stimulation". It is available for 5,000 Euro.

Kunsthaus Tacheles: Neue Kundgebungen gegen Raeumung "Tacheles auf!" Waechter von Kielnhofer eingesperrt

Rund 50 Teilnehmer versammelten sich nach Angaben der Polizei bereits
am Vormittag in der Oranienburger Straße. Angemeldet waren rund 700
Teilnehmer, wie eine Sprecherin sagte. Die Kundgebung unter dem Motto
„Tacheles auf!" sollte bis in den Abend hinein dauern. Am Donnerstag
war der alternative Kulturtreff für Künstler und Besucher gesperrt
worden.

Frammenti

Frammenti: opere spontanee, istantanee ispirazioni, realizzate  nella  maggior parte  al termine del lavoro su opere di dimensioni più grandi. I colori sono diretti, residui di tavolozza impastati,  toccati o sfiorati di mescolanze. La mano esegue, guidata dall’occhio e dall’impulso per far nascere un’opera anche se in dimensioni ridotte, meglio se posso trasferirla su tele di grande formato come avviene non di rado. Il più delle volte utilizzo i “frammenti” come studio della composizione.

Zeitgenössische Entwürfe an der Schnittstelle zwischen Design und Kunst

Mit dem Ende der frühen Avantgarde des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts und der Idee vom Gesamtkunstwerk haben sich die beiden Disziplinen „Kunst“ und „Design“ als weitgehend unabhängige Genres etabliert. Gegen Ende unseres letzten Jahrhunderts wurde diese Trennung zunehmend hinterfragt. Heute wechseln Künstler und Künstlerinnen ebenso wie Designer und Designerinnen je nach Projekt zwischen freiem und experimentellem Entwurf und klar formulierten Gestaltungsaufgaben. Die „Wohnen & Interieur 2012“ reagiert auf diese Veränderungen und positioniert sich 2012 zum ersten Mal auch als Ausstellungsort für innovative und kreative Designlösungen und wird so zur Schnittstelle von Design, Kunst und Raumgestaltung heimischer wie internationaler KünstlerInnen und DesignerInnen.

Im Mittelpunkt dieser umfassenden Sonderschau, die unter der Supervision des Architekten und Designers Gregor Eichinger gestaltet wird, stehen das Übertreten von Genregrenzen und die Verbindung von Kunst und Design.

Auf einer Fläche von 900 m2 sind in der eigens gestalteten Sonderschau DESIGN_RAUM_KUNST Möbel und Objekte von neun KünstlerInnen internationalen Rangs:

The “Glowing Light Ball Bench” created by Manfred Kielnhofer was present at the Light Art Biennial Austria. The bench, which has a very simple design, consists of three light balls and two wooden board perforates that lay over the light balls. Contrasting structural dynamics of the artist Manfred Kielnhofer provides analytically with his artistic work The "Glowing Light Ball Bench" more than one possible answer to this issue. Kielnhofer asks the viewer literally to an intellectual debate and intellectual, philosophical stimulation. Based on art and design relavante aspects of this work is based on philosophical thinking patterns that are complementary with social impact through the application and interaction. Materials and urban positioning, more variables which give the work of art this unique versatility and applicability. Whether moving, static, bright, swimming, driving, busy or isolated freestanding - the action itself defines the fine line to use artistic design, or art-oriented design to use. "The moment you try the artwork in my thoughts and words to capture, one realizes that this task almost limitless variations, offers viewpoints and approaches. Kielnhofer redeemed by shape, material, resulting in an avalanche of application functionality and solutions / results on different levels of perception."
